Extracurriculars

I've been trying to find extracurriculars that I find interesting. Extracurriculars that I want to be a part of would be related to computers/technology, possibly history, media, and business. I plan to double major in computer science and business, so I would like to be a part of an extracurricular activity that would help. However, I can't seem to find many extracurriculars that fall into my interest. I'm not sure where else to look. I'm 15 years old and becoming a sophomore next semester. Most of the extracurriculars that I find interesting are expensive or have an age restriction of 16+. If I can't find any extracurriculars that I could be a part of while I'm in the first semester of 10th grade (By the time it's second semester, I'll be 16), would it affect my chances of going to the colleges I apply to since I didn't do much until about half way of high school? What extracurriculars could I be a part of?

If you’re interested in comp sci, learn a programming language really well, if you can. You’ve got time, so after you’ve gotten the hang of a language, you can try for the U.S. Computing Olympiad (assuming you’re American).

You can also start a programming club at your school. For business, you need a way to show leadership/entrepreneurship, so try starting up a small business with a friend and if it gets off the ground, you can make some money while gaining valuable experience.

That’s actually a good idea. I didn’t even know there was a computer programming competition. I would definitely enter if I knew enough about computer programming. Unfortunately, I don’t but I’m going to be taking a computer science course in the beginning of the next year so that’s definitely going to help. Maybe in eleventh or twelfth grade I’ll enter the competition.

I was thinking about starting a computer programming club at my school, but like I said, I don’t really know enough of computer programming. I was already planning to have my own business club anyways.

I really want to have my own business and I already have an idea for a product, I have the design in my head of how it’s gonna look and how it’s gonna work, the only problem is that I don’t know how to build it.
