extracurriculars

Hello everyone! I was hoping someone could answer my question. I just started my junior year and I'm wondering what are good extra curriculars for someone wanting to go into mechanical engineering. I am pretty active in school but my activities don't have a common theme that top tier colleges are looking for. For example, if someone wants to major in economics they would have a couple 'fill in clubs' and then have a lot attention focused towards model un as he/she would show through numerous model un awards and leadership positions. I know one might suggest robotics but i feel you could only go so far with that at a high school level plus it's a common activity. I was thinking of starting an engineering club(doing fun engineering projects after school) and maybe joining the robotics club. I've done extensive research on the jobs of mechanical engineers but a lot of the things that I could delve into require access to things that only a professional mechanical engineer would have. Here are my current extracurriculars:

-Student Council
-French Club
-Umoja club (african cultural club)
-RWJUH safety ambassador (promote safety to children around 2nd grade at a hospital)
-SciNHS
-School Newspaper
Science League

outside school
-church volunteer(over 1x10^18 hrs haha every sunday I go to church and participate in the volunteer activities afterwards, it's a lot though I've been doin this every sunday since 5th grade)

-elijah's promise(volunteer here on saturdays whenever I get the chance and during the summer)

-I am also a translator /narrator of children's stories for bookbox inc my work will be up soon. I translate the stories into Asante Twi. Search them up on youtube!

I was thinking of getting a job at a body shop but I doubt I could land it because of my inexperience with cars, or maybe start a bike repair business. I've searched for mechanical engineering/ engineer related interships but there arent any for 16 yr olds with no connections. Any suggestions of internships for mechanical engineering or engineering in general?

Question in mind: what extra curricular activities should I replace/add to my list that would point to a mechanical engineering major? Thanks in advance

Anything math or science, really. But to the best of my knowledge, the college of engineering will not really care about your extracurriculars, only the university will. Remember that the university admits you first, and they are trying to build a successful and diverse and active student body. The college of engineering (and its departments) gets your application only after the university okays you for admission, and at that point they are mostly interested in your transcript and test scores (if applicable), particularly the math/science results.
