Hi everyone, I am currently a junior in high school and here are my extracurriculars:
- Robotics(2 year)
- Science Olympiad(2 year)
- Business Professionals of America (2 year)
- Math team(1 year)
- Cross Country/track (2 year)
As you can see I have participated in most my activities for both Freshman and Sophomore years of high school. However Junior year I decided that I was spending to much time on sports (3 hours everyday the entire year). I never considered myself so into sports but our school is very competitive. So this year I decided instead of doing sports that I would spend more time on robotics. However that plan backfired, because of new talent this year I didn’t make the team on robotics and I never tried out for cross country. Which means that my most beloved club is gone from me. My question is whether firstly how quitting a sport halfway through high school affect me in college apps as a future engineer. And secondly what clubs you guys participated in to get to your school? Did you guys have internships or jobs or robotics through high school? Should I continue with all the activities (apart from cross country/track) I listed above?
Thanks,
Struggling high schooler
