Extracurriculars

How good do you think active participation in the junior reserve officers training corps (JROTC) looks? Like, i’m a company commander which means im in charge of a class of younger cadets and im on the first team color guard (the flag team) and i do volunteer work with the program.

any input?

It sounds like a serious commitment to me, and it looks like good leadership...it should probably look pretty good

Def. some good leadership and responsibility. A very solid EC I would say.

this sounds good...

im really riding on the program to pick up my otherwise unspectacular stats...

does anyone else even have a jrotc program at their school?

I definitely don't have one...but a cousin of mine does

yea we have a pretty big one..kinda regret i didnt do it maybe i would of learned some much needed discipline and boy do i need that

yea i have one too...i am a captain and am in charge of the supply room (S-4 department)

Yea, I have a really big one. I transferred into my school late so i didn't really have the option of joining. Doubt I would have done it though.

i am definetly not going to do in it college, but it was a great high school experiance.. i felt like i bonded more with the rotc kids then with other kids....

You probably did. It's like a cult at my school.

My school has one, but it's basically just for the ghetto kids who have no hope of going to college. I've heard better things about it other places.

wow, totally different from my school

Vinny

You're a captain and in charge of supply? Interesting. I have a MSG doing that. But sweet coincidence...im a captain too!

we do not have one of those at my high school

and as for the ops original question, i think itll look like a fantastic EC and will make up, but probably not fully, for lower sat/gpa

My bad Vinny, i was referring to my company supply sgt. we have a 1LT doing it i think
