Extracurriculars

Alright, so I'm in my soph year in high school and I kinda slacked off during my freshman year in terms of extracurriculars. I had around 100 hours of community service, part of the German Club, DECA, Mathletes and on the Basketball team. This year, I'm thinking of joining a decent bit more clubs like Community Service Club and stuff like that. I know that everyone always says dedication is more important than the amount of things you do. I'm going to continue with the clubs that I was in freshman year but I'm wondering it might look bad if all of a sudden I jump into all these clubs a bit late. So pretty much I would have only been doing these clubs for 2 years which isn't long, would it also show up on my transcript that I did them in senior year so it would look better?

starting a club sophomore year is fine, you aren’t expected to know exactly what you want to do in freshman year. On the other hand, starting something senior year is blatant resume padding.
