Ok, so I have a ton of community service (200+ hours), but a varsity sport (4 years) and school newspaper (1 year) as extracurriculars. I'm a Junior. This may be a dumb question, but if I join a couple clubs and volunteer my Senior year would colleges see it as if I only participated in these activities to "pad" my application? After all, this is what I'd be doing. Would the community service somewhat offset the lack of other extracurriculars?

Many schools look for some passion in a limited number of ECs rather than an across the board joiner. They would see you joining a bunch of clubs as a senior as trying to "add points".
