So I'm basically asking if every class you have ever taken at the University level weighs into your GPA?..Problem is, last year I went to University A (freshman year) and I didn't do all that well, I didn't really know what I wanted to do as a career..Since then I have picked a program that I am interested in and I am planning on going back to University A for the first year (Engineering) and then transferring to another University to finish my degree.

My question is will my marks from my first year at University A show up on my transcript? Like when you transfer do all of your marks from your previous University, even if some of the credits weren't actually transfered (different program), show up on your transcript?

The reason I'm asking is because now that I am dedicated and motivated to do well, I would like to maintain somewhat of a high GPA. I don't want those nasty C's and D's bringin me down.

When you graduate, you can think of yourself as having 2 GPAs. Your degree GPA (only including credits that transferred to your degree) and your cumulative undergraduate GPA.

The ONLY grades that will possibly factor into your GPA at your current school are the grades from the classes that you actually transferred for credit. Any class that you did not transfer for credit will NOT affect your GPA.

My current school does not factor transfer credits into GPA, which I was disappointed about, actually. I could use a little padding seeing as I transferred schools and changed my major to engineering, as well.

A lot of graduate schools will count all college classes taken as part of your GPA, including those taken in high school. I’m guessing that if you didn’t report these to get credit, they won’t go on any transcript, though.

I thought you said this would be interesting?

To answer your question, it depends on the college. Most colleges will show the grade, but not carry any actual GPA weight on it. Some will, some will only show the class. It depends.
You can request a copy of your transcript and see how they list it.

Credits, but probably not grades from school #1 will probably show up on the transcript of school #2. However, you must submit both transcripts in situations such as applying to grad school.
