Extremely low GPA. Chances anywhere? ANYWHERE AT ALL!?

I'm really scared that I won't get accepted anywhere.

Female, junior. In New Jersey.

Freshman GPA: 2.4
Sophmore: 2.4 (including an F but I attended summer school and got an A)
Junior: 3.1
Senior: I'm aiming for 3.6+.

So about 2.6 total. (not including senior year). Terrible GPA. I didn't really care + I had problems.

My SATs are somewhat better, I guess.

780m (taking again and aiming for 800) 650v, 650w.

I'm taking the SATs again in October.

I took all honors/AP courses and our school does not give out weighted grades.

So, do I have a chance?
I really want to attend Purdue Engineering. But with my GPA, I fear I have no chance. Are there any other good engineering colleges around the northeast area that might accept me? Please, I need your help!

purdue has rollikng admissions so just fill out your app early. Also finfish junior year strong.

unless new jersey people turn there noses up at the south, you could probably get into Ole Miss or something like that. although it is rather far from new jersey

yea sry, the gpa is kinda low. I'm pretty sure you can get into many places, but dont aim to high. If there's any reason for the gpa (family issues, rough financial times etc), you may be able to work it into an essay. good luck

Yeah explain yourself. State schools are your best bet.

Or maybe a small school, though I'm not sure about for engineering.

I bet Purdue will take you, though.

Your SATs are great. Your gpa is improving. There are plenty of public and private colleges that would take you. Your reach schools probably are tier 2. Your match schools are probably the bottom of tier 2, top of tier 3.

Make sure you write wonderful essays, get good recommendations that explain that you've improved and now take academics seriously.

I don't know if you can get into Purdue, since I hear it is very tough. Perhaps you could go to a much lower ranked engineering school and then transfer.

Man, that is weak....good luck though...take care. You have better chances than any Mexican I know.

I am fairly sure you can get into Purdue.

I have heard Montana State has pretty good engineering, and is very easy to get into, I have heard of someone with lower SAT and gpa who got in.
