I have read in the academy catalog that your eyesight only has to be less than ±8.00 diopters for commission, but I have read in other places that you still need to get a waiver if your eyesight isn’t pilot/navigator qualified. Any ideas?

I think that is true for naval academy, but not air force. The only time you will need a waiver is if ou are +/- 8 Diopters in any meridian.

If your eighsight is worse than PPQ PNQ but still within the above limits, no worries (unless you wanna become a pilot or nav).

Hope this clears things up!

It does thanks a lot.

and no pun intended with the "clears things up."

lol.......
