<p>I'm looking to go into engineering and my first choice is University of Delaware. i'm a decent student 3.918 gpa/4.671 weighted gpa all honors and ap classes, member of the national honor society, student council, whos who in america for academics and sports, 33/400 in a blue ribbon school, 4 varsity letters, however i just took the april sat and bombed it, its my first time taking it and i got a 1600 what do you think my chances are of getting into this school with a score like that? I would really apprciate your help. I hope my goals aren't to high</p>

<p>Get those SATs up to around 1800 and it'll be a safe match.</p>
<p>Do I know it all? Of course not. I'm simply offering the best course of action. Think of it this way:</p>
<p>Median SAT (old test) is ~1210. 37% have GPAs of 3.75 or higher. In order for Delaware to be a match, this person should get his SAT around the median.</p>
<p>Try the ACT, its different and in some ways easier.</p>
<p>The "easier" part depends on the person, but it's definitely different. Buy a book with practice tests, take one, and see if you prefer its feel.</p>
<p>I actually did worse on the ACT...but it is easier for some people. I agree that you should try it and see. Otherwise, you can always look into schools, such as Connecticut College, that do not require the SAT. With your other stats- you would be a very competitive applicant.</p>
