I've heard that Umich is not very generous with its FA for OOS. Is this true? I know the OOS tuition is pretty high so i'm hoping to cover the expenses up with some scholarships but i want to know about the FA thank u. I would appreciate if Alexandre responded :)

Well...I ain't no Alexandre...but I think I can help you here.

The University of Michigan does not guarantee to meet 100% of financial need for OOS students. What this means is that you very well may have money that you need to pay ON TOP OF your EFC.

Do your best to get outside scholarships; hopefully if you get enough, you can get off of need based aid all together...this would be the best situation for you.

If you do need to use need-based financial aid, outside scholarships may or may not help you.
Michigan does not give international applicants FA and gives decent but not great FA to OOS US citizens. There is no rhyme or reason, it really depends on circumstances. I know students who got $20,000 scholarships and I know others who got nothing. Definitelty apply early.
