Hi! I just got admitted to NYU Tisch School of the Arts today. I went onto Albert to check my FA, and on my "to do" list it is showing that I never sent in my non-custodial parent waiver, therefore I never sent in the non-custodial parent form at all... which I swore I did. I called the FA office and the lady basically told me I will not be considered at all for any of NYU's need based aid. Is there any other approach to trying to correct this problem? I really do need the aid and it was an honest mistake on my part. My EFC is less than $10,000 so I'm hoping they'll be more forgiving.

I really don’t know what your options are, but if you thought you sent it, you might have. Did your non-custodial parent fill out the form? And did other schools receive it? I have had problems with some schools getting things from CSS that others did not, or they missed somehow. I hope you get it worked out!

I needed to fill out the waiver form. I haven’t had contact with my biological father in over ten years. Other schools like USC, Emerson, and Syracuse have received the waiver with supporting documentation-- but each waiver form is different for each school… they all kind of look a like after a while. I just finished writing my letter of circumstance/appeal. Fingers crossed, knock on wood. Gonna do what I can to fix the situation!

@EdBound Hope it all works out for you! Are you in drama or film? What schools are you considering?
