FAA chances and portfolio query

<p>This is a really important question for me applying to colleges.</p>

<p>Is the Art + Design program at U of I hard to get into?
Anything i should know for my portfolio specifically to UofI?</p>

Course Rigor:Regular math/sci classes, enr. english classes and some enr. history

National Merit Nominee (PSAT 203), sent to UofI
Essays:Good!
EC: Two years soccer
One year gymnastics
Work experience with graphic arts
Small amount of volunteering</p>

<p>And how much does the portfolio matter for acceptance? My portfolio is definitely pretty good, I've got a lot of great digital art and of course a variety of mediums.</p>

<p>Art and design is very competitive and as long as rank/grades and test score are fine (yours appear to be), portfolio is the deciding factor.</p>

<p>Engineering has one the highest admission rates of all the colleges at UIUC usually above 70%. However, its middle 50% range last year was top 8% to top 2% class rank and 30 to 33 ACT, the highest of any of the colleges. Why? Its a self-selective pool as most who apply for engineering are in that range and higher, and if you are not within that range your chances of admission are weak.</p>
