There ya go.

Be VERY careful what you put on Facebook. The Commandant/DepDant/Commandant's staff has software that allows them to access facebook and potentially fry people, especially if they're in inappropriate groups. That said, the Future MIDN group and such are fine.

Also realize that they are very savvy in looking around facebook, you might have all appropriate pics, but when they click on your friends and see you in it with a stupid pic it will come back and bite you.

Just so you know our DS's ROTC det has caught kids breaking alcohol laws by viewing the friends pics.

Remember they might be old ;), but they are not as ignorant as you might wish.

Finally, there were so many cadets that got fried at BCT because they put up stupid pictures/sayings and people were waiting for them. Many were like they can't scare me and I am a bad A** that will give it right back. You will see the threads loaded with stories about getting known for their facebook or myspace prior and alot of them just drooling at the mouth to meet them

It always reminded me of Elmer Fudd ...shush be very quiet...I am hunting wabbits...take a guess who the wabbits are?

I am being serious brag about getting in, but don't egg them on. There is a you tube link of a poor AF kid, about 2 yrs ago...if I can find it I'll link it

Im prob gonna delete my facebook if I get an appointment, you know just in case :D

everyone here has a facebook, and as long as you set it to private and aren't stupid enough to post pictures of you drinking then you'll be fine.

O ok, lol then i wont delete it. I dont drink anyway so I guess it doesnt matter.

Once again, make sure you set it to private. Funny story from plebe summer: this kid was an NJROTC unit commander in high school and had a picture on facebook in his uniform (with 5 bars and a million ribbons) and his girlfriend next to him in a cracker jack sailor suit. The detailers found it on his facebook and printed it out and showed it to all the plebes yelling "bearing" and such.

I never found the link, but it was a kid standing in front of a jet acting very cocky, they found him on day one and were in his face.

There was another kid last yr that was a twin and thought that he could hide and nobody would be able to find him out...too bad he was Asian and his twin brother was accepted too. There was alot of joking going around about that...Common sense is the key!

HAHA wow! I like the cracker jack suit :D

My profile picture is very far from my face, so i don't even think they could recognize me anyway. My profile has been private since I made it.

who knows. maybe they know who all of the college confidential people are.

:) (this is usna looking at you)

AHHHH! IM SO SCREWED!!! haha jk

I havent done anything wrong why should i be worried :D

also i would refrain from joining any facebook groups for your year.

when i went to NASS this summer the first story we heard on the bus ride over to the annapolis was about a girl in class of '12 who posted on her class's facebook group about how they were "the best class every..blah blah bah". To make the story short, the detailers got her picture off facebook and after a week or two of being singled out she called it quits.
