Facebook: The Movie

The Social Network : Facebook Movie

This movie looks really dramatized and I don't see it making it big in the box office.

I sincerely hoped it was fake.

^ I was thinking the same thing before I bothered watching the trailer.

I can see this being very popular amongst teenagers and young adults for the sole reason of it regarding Facebook. Personally I found it pretty interesting because the story hook is how something like the creation of Facebook essentially created the world’s youngest self-made billionaire and who he screwed and left behind to get there.

It’s real. I just the trailer in theater today. Some people think it’s just abt Facebook but it’s about somewhat the real controversial story of its creation. Whose original idea was it?
The cast is also quite famous. Plus the director is David Fincher (Fight Club)
Personally, I would love to go see it.

Well I was watching the trailer and it actually seemed like it might be good. I think it’s going to get a lot of hype because it’s about Facebook - maybe cynical hype. I’ll probably rent it at Redbox for a dollar.

It looks really interesting because I’ve always wondered about how something like that actually happens, but you’re right its kinda over dramatized

Awww are you kidding me?! As much as this is about facebook, it is helmed by the slick and excellent David Fincher, scored by Trent Reznor(NIN) and stars a SOLID young cast of Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield. It’ll be your loss if you don’t see it, I’m sure.

Just realized it was produced by Kevin Spacey. Cool beans.

I saw this thread earlier and didn’t bother to open it because I assumed it was some kind of joke thread, like what if we made a Facebook movie? But I thought the trailer looked really, really good! I’m not surprised at all someone wants to do a movie about the creation of Facebook.

This movie is going to probably be awesome. It’s kind of based off of a book, which was based off of original accounts mixed with fiction to make it all flow and interesting. Cannot wait to see it.

I saw the trailer before Inception.

It had a weird radiohead- Creep cover, which really bothered me (because the cover sounded so weird). That might be the reason I don’t go see it.
That and it’s being released in October. I see maybe 2 movies during a semester, and I doubt this will be one of them.

Proof that the internet is serious business.

It doesn’t look like a great movie, based on the preview I saw before inception. But it was attention grabbing to me because I’m interested in the plot…

@Hurley, LOST? ;)

I actually wanna watch the movie. I saw the trailer while watching Inception (though I had seen it before) and it looks… interesting.

I liked the line:

What the hell, I’m not even going to bother lying… I will probably end up watching this, hahah. The overly dramatic trailer did look a bit intriguing.

When I saw the trailer for this in theaters right before seeing Inception, I groaned.

The premise and story of this movie looks really lame and predictable.

Also, it seems like it’s going to be like that movie 21 (based off of a ‘true story’) - everything is over-dramatized and fictionalized to the extreme, because the original story was kind of lame, and random romantic sub-plots in addition to gratuitous shots of melon-breasted bimbos prancing around with the protagonist are a virtual certainty.

It seems extremely lame, Facebook jokes are already dated, and the primary appeal seems to be America’s obsession with fame and celebrity, and “take a look at how this mega-rich dude lives, feel inadequate, and buy the products we are advertising to fix it” mentality prevalent in this country. I could be wrong but it looks LAAAAAME.

The fact that fight club guy is directing it is the only thing that is promising. But what else has he done lately?

^He did the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but I’ve never actually seen it.

Edit: Yea, this is going to suck. Why is Justin Timberlake in this movie?

At least Rashida Jones will give those people who go to see it something nice to look at.

did the trailer remind anyone of the “every oscar-winning movie” trailer? (if you haven’t seen it, youtube it- you’ll get a good laugh  )

I lol’d, the comments for it are funny too.

How do you complain about a movie being overdramatic? I would rather have a nicely overdramatic movie than a boring underdramatic movie.
