But not when the accent is coming from an annoying guy who is faking an accent just to be more attractive.

edit- well, he doesn't really fake it, but come on, after living in the US for like.. ten years... you shouldn't have that much of an accent, imo.

For me, it depends how thick the accent is. There's the typical subtle accent, which is pleasant to hear. However, some are extremely prominent and difficult to understand.

I liked them, then I went to a British International School here in China. 'Nough said."

You took the words outta my mouth. Except I didn't go to a school in China, but nonetheless...after being around british accents for a whole school year, I was DYING to hear an American one again. It gets annoying REALLY fast.

Really? I'm a guy, but I've heard this from girls, that Australians sound like British people with low IQs. Now I know that they are just as smart, but that's the way that they sound.

When people say "British Accent" and what most Americans think of when they say "British Accent" is the upper class British Accent... the sort of English that the Royal Family speaks. The vast majority of Britons don't speak with this accent. The average person on the street in the UK does not have the accent that most Americans think of.

yea ^ i kno what you mean. i dont really like the north london accent, however the oxford ones reallllllly hot, so i'd have to say FACT. liverpool accents can be pretty attractive as well.

As a guy, I gotta say that the working class Cockney accent(which the Geico gecko speaks) sounds damn cool. The upper class sounds sort of stiff and pretentious. Can't really see why chicks dig it.

Umm, upper class -> $$$. Clear? It's a natural response when there is a subconscious connection between the accent and wealth.
