<p>If your full need (difference between EFC and COA) is covered by financial aid then scholarships will likely reduce your financial aid. However most schools reduce the 'self help' portion first - ie loans and work study. My daughter had full need covered but there was a lot of 'loan' in there. When she got an additional scholarship the loan went down considerably which was great.</p>
