FACTS.org pin..

I met with an advisor yesterday who told me about the steps I needed to take classes at TCC over the summer as an FSU student, and the first step (entering my facts.org pin) isn't working.. at all.
He said they have a deadline for summer applications coming up soon, but I can't call to find out what my pin is or if I can change it since we're on spring break.
It's supposedly our birth month and year in the format xxxx (first two digits = month, last two digits = last two digits of your birth year). I keep getting an error saying that it's wrong, and when I try to change it on blackboard it also says that it's incorrect. My birth month has two digits, so I know it's not a missing zero or anything weird like that.

So.. does anyone know if FSU sets pins differently than the default?

Your ID should be your SS#, and password what you said. I had this problem a few weeks ago and had to call to get a new one assigned.

Yeah, I know that’s what it’s supposed to be. I tried my FSUSN since that’s how other schools have it, but it said it was a 9 digit number so I tried the SSN again… to no avail. =/

Dnerd, I don’t know about getting your PIN–sorry, but I was wondering what deadline you are referring to. I want to enroll in courses at my hometown CC summer semester, I’ve completed dual enrollment courses there previously while attending high school. I didn’t talk to any FSU advisors yet, but I applied for FSU financial aid for summer semester as a transient at another college. My problem is the local CC doesn’t release summer course schedule until end of March and I’m concerned how I am going to get FSU advisors and registrar to complete the student transient form timely when I don’t even know what courses are available yet at CC. Too, the FSU financial aid consortium contract has to have the CC certify what courses I am enrolled in! So I guess what I’m getting at is how am I going to squeeze all this in before the summer semester begins at the CC and what is the likelihood of getting financial aid in place so I don’t have to pay CC tuition myself out of my pocket and have to wait to get reimbursed from FSU financial aid with the consortium agreement? Guess I’m rambling, but that’s why I’m asking you what deadline they were talking about with you. Thanks for trying to help me sort this out!

DNERD, You can call the registrar on Monday. I think they can reset it for you over the phone. There is something having to do with FACTS on secure apps also but I am not sure you can reset the PIN. The campus is not on spring break, just the students.

Thanks, I thought they were closed.

@Tallalassie, my advisor just said TCC has a deadline that occurs sometime before registration for summer begins (3/30) so I don’t think there’s a set one on FSU’s part.

^ok, thanks! I emailed my advisor yesterday and she wrote back that the transient form is done electronically through FACTS.org so there is no real paperwork to shuffle around. All the approvals are done online and you just watch the system for all the signatures and then register for classes. You don’t actually register for classes at FSU until 3-30 so I should be able to look at the courses at the CC around the same time when the CC posts its summer course schedule the end of March. I’m going to see my academic advisor next week about all this, she is very good about helping me whenever I check in with her! I might though have to advance tuition and wait for reimbursement from FSU for scholarships I have in place–if I don’t use it I lose it.
