Does anyone know what Baylor is looking for at Invitation To Excellence for possible Faculty Scholarship winners? And how many do they typically give per year?
From what I’ve heard, it’s worth going. Not only you can secure event based scholarship but by showing your interest, you improve your odds of larger scholarships. Here are some links from another thread. You may find more information there.
My child is a current faculty scholar. It’s a great program, as is the University Scholar’s program. I don’t think that anyone can tell you what they are looking for, but you need to absolutely take a stance and write and essay that stands out. I don’t know what impressed them about my daughter, but I will say that she in addition to being highly intelligent and an excellent writer, she is a musician and has a strong Christian faith. It is possible that the balance impressed them, and being a Christian University they may also want to attract thought leaders who are confident in their faith.
