Faculty Recommendation?

S has applied ED and just noticed that “Faculty Recommendation” has been added to his documents received list. He got to know a few professors during Pre-College but did not ask them to write letters for him so I am assuming CMU took it upon themselves to get feedback from them. Now he’s left wondering who they spoke to and if they did it on their own or by a request from admissions.

Anyone else have this listed?

I have it and I went to precollege. I speculate it may be the evaluation all the students got. but its strange they call it a “recommendation” because not all evaluations are good.

Faculty could just as easily recommend that the student NOT be accepted. CMU may ask them for and document their opinion either way.
