FAFSA - At least 5 Years in State?

I need help with the following questions:
(1) Has Student Lived in State for at Least 5 Years?
(2) Have Parents Lived in State for at Least 5 Years?

I was born in California with my parents until I was in 2nd grade. After that I moved to Nevada and then moved back to California before I started high school. I’ve been living in California ever since (for 3.5 years). Do I answer yes to the questions or does my childhood not count anymore since I moved out. Also if I answer no then what do I put when it asks me what my and my parents legal state of residence is? Is the legal residence date the date I moved back?

You answer no, then it will ask when you moved to California and you fill in the date from 3.5 years ago. You’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it if you’ve lived there and graduated from a calif. High school
