Got an email from FAFSA to update our estimated taxes for the form.
we are not taking out loans or using any sort of financial aid this year for son’s first year of college.
Do we need to update the form if we are not using financial aid? can we ignore?

Probably good idea to update it. There are some schools that will not offer aid for subsequent years if you don’t apply the first year. So it is a good insurance policy to ally freshman year.
I think their system spit these reminders out today. I got two. Or, I got them because I tried to update mine on friday(finally) and had to do the new login application. Mine came back as a ‘no match’. I have no idea what to do, as I checked the information and what I entered is correct - the only name, birthdate, and SSN I’ve ever had.
I’d do the updates now as, if there is a problem like mine is, you’ll figure it out and fix it now, when you don’t need the loan rather than next year when you do.
