Hello Hello,
I recently got an email from one of the colleges I applied to and it said that i need to correct my FAFSA. I go to my FAFSA to do this, and everything is right. It says that the citizenship status questions is not right since I put that I’m not a us citizen. I do have daca staus so I know that I don’t get federal student aid but I’ve been told to still fill out the FAFSA. Does anybody know what I should do because there’s nothing to correct even though it says that a correction is needed.

Be very careful when completing it. You never want to say you are a citizen when you aren’t.
Do the schools I applied to automatically receive my SAR report even If I cant submit my FAFSA?
Your FAFSA must be submitted in order for it to be processed and received by your colleges.
since i cant send my fafsa, should i just send each college my SAR report or the CSS profile?
How did you get a SAR if your FAFSA wasn’t submitted?
@kelsmom does ny of this make sense to you?
But no…you can’t mail the SAR or Profile yourself…they need to come directly from FAFSA.gov…and the College Board.
I think my fafsa was sent to the colleges I applied to but It just says i need to correct something but its something I cant correct so theres nothing I can do. But i can view my SAR Report. This is what it says if it helps:
There are issues with your FAFSA information that need to be resolved before your eligibility can be determined. Be sure to review the items marked with a Highlighted Field and make any corrections if necessary by clicking ‘Make FAFSA Corrections’ on the ‘My FAFSA’ page.
You did not indicate on your FAFSA that you are a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen (Item 14). To receive federal student aid, a student must be ‑‑
(1) A U.S. citizen (or U.S. National), or
(2) An eligible noncitizen, such as a U.S. permanent resident or a resident of certain Pacific Islands, or as determined by the U.S. Department of Education
I kept getting that email too. I called FAFSA. They said everything is good.
what did your colleges say about it?
@polishbabe , oh you can’t do the FAFSA, I tried last year, what you can do use the CSS profile ASAP, and use the college’s financial aid forms too if there are any. The link I sent you has colleges that have their own form of financial aid, or take CSS. like Princeton accompanies DACA, I currently applied there, and for their financial aid they have a thing called PFAA that I easily finished and confirmed that there were no problems.
