FAFSA Corrections

After you fill out FAFSA corrections are you supposed to send a copy to CMU? Also, after you fill out FAFSA corrections do you have to somehow resubmit your Carnegie Mellon Financial Aid Application even if you already filled it out two weeks ago?

no replies in 2 weeks? You’d think CMU admissions would have someone answering Qs here.
I have similar Qs, however, I did not apply for fin aid, I just did the FAFSA for merit. Did you get any answers? I submitted a preliminary FAFSA before filing taxes and without a PIN. I don’t think it was filed until I went in and corrected it and signed w/the PIN. I did get a SAR in the mail indicating that I needed to file & sign w/the PIN,“before the app can be processed”. Do you know if CMU would have gotten the prelim? How do you know if they’ve gotten the corrected for merit?
I would call admissions, but they haven’t been very helpful.

I did look again at the Where am I and saw at the bottom w/fin aid info that the FAFSA did not have a date received yet. Any idea on how long it takes for CMU to receive it from FAFSA? I’m assuming they did not get the prelim I did a week ago, since it could not be processed without final tax #s and signing w/the PIN.

Swimcatsmom has helped with many financial aid and FAFSA questions in the FInAid forum…

I learned there that unless you sign with the PIN- it goes no where until it’s verified…you would get mail and email to that effect. So I’m guessing CMU and any other school never received anything b/c it’s unconfirmed/unsigned. Gotta sign…
It’s a federal penalty thing…the signing means no fraud yadaa yadaa b/c FAFSA is the basis for Pell grants and loan eligibility - which your post suggests you aren’t seeking…but it’s the way the FAFSA Party works…
You can ask that question over at the FinAid forum to be sure…
