I know the deadline for filing aid for NYU is Feb. 15th, and I submitted my FAFSA today but I still have to mail in the signatures and it said online that it can take 7 days to process, so, if it does take 7 days does that mean that my FAFSA will be late? And if my signatures don't come in on time will it be considered late since they were late? And if we do send the FAFSA late, does that mean we can't be considered for financial aid for the next school year?

Sorry...I'm having a tiny little panic attack about this...

Im not entirely sure about the 7 day processing time but I am in the same position as you are. I too finished my FAFSA today. BUt i think that as long as you finish the online bit, you've technically registered, so the processing time shouldnt negate that in anyway. I say dont worry about it too much. And even if they count it as being late, they dont deny you financial aid, your chances of getting a good lump sum just go a tad bit lower, and thats all. Regardless, I would advise you to look for financial assistance from private scholarships and not depend completely on FAFSA.

I'm not depending on the FAFSA completely...I filed it considering you kind of have to...

good! oh and if you dont mind me asking, can you refer any good scholarships that you may have come across in your search. I have found a few from college board, but I am always open for more :-)

I called NYU and it won't be late. It should have no effect on how much money we get.

isn't there a way where your parents can get a pin and just sign it online? And then use that pin to "electronically sign" it? That's what I did...

yea, but i didn't do that....

and there are TONS of scholarships out there...www.fastweb.com

I sent my fafsa in but it was just estimates, when do I have to have the real thing in by?
