I’m a little confused right now because of my fafsa money because I got my first portion of it around mid September and I checked the disbursement schedule and it says I should get the second portion of it until November 15th. Out of curiosity I checked my banking account and I got my second portion of it today and it seems strange because the schedule says I shouldn’t be getting it for like another month. Did they do this on accident and also, should I not spend that money right now just in case anything happens?
On purpose. By accident. Contact your financial aid office and ask if this is the expected payment from your financial aid. Also, your school may have a on-line system that list the amount and dates funding will be applied to your account.
I checked my school website and it says I should get it November 15 that’s why its odd to me that I already got it today.
Go in-person to the financial aid office or call to ask your question. You need someone to open your specific account and give you the information based on you specifically. It could be that they dispersed early, it could be that they accidentally dispersed money to you that was not intended for you, or something else. You will only know for certain is you get an an answer to your question specifically to you.
If you’re not sure that you should have the funds now, don’t spend it until you hear from FA office that it’s yours to spend.
Seems strange that it would come in October or November… is the money to pay for the next semester’s classes? If so, then the deposit may just be “temporary”…to pay for classes.
I’m confused. Was this money refunded to,YOU…or is it disbursed to your bursurs account?
Are you a freshman? Could it be that an outside scholarship posted, and caused an overpayment? Or you dropped a class?
I agree, ask and find out where this refund came from.
