FAFSA: Financial Aid For International Applicants!

Can I apply for FAFSA if I am an international student? I've been searching up for this answer all throughout Google and cannot find one reliable answer; please help!

Only US citizens and permanent residents can apply for aid via FAFSA.

You need to ask each place on your list what they want you to do in order to apply for aid. Some may ask you to complete a version of the FAFSA, because that is how they do their own calculations. If that is the case, they will tell you what to do.

@happymomof1: Madam, are you saying that I can apply for it, even though I am not a U.S Citizen?

No, international student (not US citizen or eligible noncitizen) can’t file the FAFSA to US Dept of Education. USDOE won’t process it!

However, some schools MAY ask international student to send the PAPER FAFSA to the school for the institutional financial aid consideration. See post #2

@4kidsdad I got it.
