isn't the fafsa form for 2009 graduates available on new years?

i would fill out the one for 2008-2009, right

and why do the websites say that it was available on july 30, 2008?

i'm so confused -_-

someone help thanks!

You should be able to get your FAFSA PIN now. Link: The PIN Web Site - Federal Student Aid

January 1 is the first day you're actually eligible to file the FAFSA, regardless of when the forms were available to begin filling out. Since funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis, it's best to file your FAFSA as soon as you can; hence, some folks have begun filling the forms out ahead of time in anticipation of filing on the first day possible (they can do this because it's based on their 2007 tax returns).

Getting a PIN is your first step. And yes, you would fill out the 2008-2009 FAFSA if you are a high school senior. Here's some other information you may find useful: Completing the FAFSA 08-09

can't i fill one out on the web?
how would i pull that worksheet up?

so i could've finished filling this out before jan.1? dang!

Yes, you can fill it out on the Web. Get your PIN as mentioned above, then visit FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid
And for further FAFSA questions, I'd suggest you hit the Financial Aid forum -- more experience and better advice over there.

NO NO NO- you must fill out the 2009-2010 FAFSA. If you are a HS senior you are starting college in fall 2009 - not 2008.

The 2008-2009 FAFSA is for the 2008-2009 school year (for college not high school) which started fall 2008. If you complete that you will not have applied for aid for the 2009-2010 school year that starts fall 2009. Doing the wrong FAFSA could lead to you missing important deadlines as you will not be considered to have completed it. This happened last year to a student who missed out on a major State grant because he did not realize he had done the wrong year's FAFSA until after the deadline had passed.

The FAFSA year is the school year for which you are applying.

Oh gosh, thank you swimcatsmom for checking in over here and correcting this. luud, so sorry for my mistake.
