for freshmen of course 1st year college, but what for transfer students?
what if u stay 3 years at ccc or 4 ?

I believe you would refer to your grade level based on the number of units you’ve taken. I.E., freshman= 0-29 semester units, sophomore= 30-59, junior= 60-89, senior= 90+.

Or you might be considered a sophomore because when you transfer, either way you’ll be considered a junior.

its based on credit units you have received so what kingdom said.

IIRC look on the right where there is a help box on the fafsa site, it says you choose the grade level depending on july or something. If you plan on being at the UC by fall you apply as a junior.
