FAFSA Housing ? - anyone having trouble?

Filling out for my son who will be in an apt. next year. It will not let me get past the housing page. I have tried all options (on campus / with parents / off campus) and it still is giving me this error message:

You must enter a response for “First Housing Plans” before proceeding to the next page.

This is the 3rd year filing this out so I thought I would not have any trouble, but maybe this is a glitch? Or am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like a technical glitch. You could contact FAFSA at 1-800-433-3243 if you would like to confirm what is going on, but I would log out, give it a few hours and try again later.

Thank you - I have done that with my son’s form. I also have a D’15 I’m starting one for, and if I also run into trouble on her’s, I will wait a few hours to see if the problem resolves itself.

This is my first time filling this out and I had the same problem.
I have just contacted them on the technical error through email.

…In the meantime, I have found a way around it.
I was using Chrome on Windows 7 OS. When I switched to Internet Explorer, the form worked!
Also the Help and Hints actually worked with IE (was wondering if they were just supposed to be blank when I was using Chrome).

@cricketry - thank you - I was able to also switch over to IE and got the forms to work. I’m pretty sure I didn’t have a browser problem last year and was able to use Firefox, but apparently not this year.

I got this back from the FAFSA info center:

Certain web browsers have been certified for use with FAFSA on the Web. If you choose to use a browser other than the ones certified, the site’s pages may not display properly and you may encounter problems while entering your application that Customer Service may not be able to resolve. On a quarterly basis, the U.S. Department of Education will evaluate new browser versions and certify them for use with FAFSA on the Web.

To determine if you are using a supported browser, please take the following steps:

I guess they don’t update the form that much, haha.
