FAFSA problem

I made a huge error when completing FAFSA that prevented me from receiving aid from my schools. My EFC was unreasonably high.
I know a lot of my schools have priority deadlines that have already passed. If I resubmit now (April 2), would it significantly affect the amount of aid I would have received?
I know I should have double-checked this before but I did not until now and this is a huge issue and now I’m really stressed and it’s all my fault. How screwed am I?

If it makes a difference I will probably attend UMass Amherst (in-state) which had a priority deadline of March 1st.
The other school I am less likely to end (because of $$$) is Brandeis University which had a (from what I understand) of January.
I had originally submitted the FAFSA for everything by late December.

Also, is there anyone I should reach out to for help with this issue? My school’s financial aid people? FAFSA website?

You would receive any federal aid you are entitled to (Pell grant, loans) no matter when you submit the FAFSA. If the schools award their own aid based on the fAFSA, you may not get as much because the FAFSA was incorrect. They’ll consider your FAFSA filed as of Dec., but they may have issued all their money.

If you currently have NO aid, and you made a mistake and you should have received aid, how can you be harmed by making the correction? Right now you have $0 and you may get some. Make the correction.

What was the huge error?
