Help my fafsa won’t submit because I stated I am not an eligible non citizen, my problem is that I do not have a green card I do have a SSN and an ARN # but not a green card, what is my next step to solve this please help.
You can’t submit FAFSA because you’re not a green card resident or citizen.
Will the colleges still get my financial information ? for need based aid
Not if you aren’t submitting any information.
What school is it?
https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/eligibility/non-us-citizens#daca-fafsa here I should still submit one even if I’m DACA, I don’t need federal aid, but i still want to be eligible or institutional aid, the schools are
NYU
SUNY BUFF/BING/STONY/ALBANY/NEW PALTZ
PACE UNI
RUTGERS
R.I.T
You need to call the FAFSA hotline to ask them how to submit if your answers to the questions don’t allow you to submit electronically.
You need to submit the CSS Profile to NYU,and I believe RIT as well.
Look on all those college websites to,see what international students need to submit.
Yea but my question is why won’t my fafsa submit ?
If you are neither a citizen nor an eligible noncitizen, you are not eligible for federal student aid. If you have a Social Security Number but are not a citizen or an eligible noncitizen, including if you have been granted DACA, you should still complete the FAFSA because you may be eligible for state or college aid. You should check with your college’s financial aid office to see what kind of financial aid you may be eligible to receive.
According to them ^ it should
Are you sure you can submit it electronically? You should fill it out, but it is up to the schools if they will consider the information for THEIR OWN aid, since you can’t get federal aid.
You have to call FAFSA or the schools to see why it is not accepting your application. This says you can submit electronically. Maybe you didn’t answer a question correctly? Did you get an error saying the reason it did not process was that you are a non-citizen?

Just call.
When you are DACA you cannot submit a FASFA electronically. I don’t have the precise rule but part of DACA is that you cannot seek federal benefits, therefore you absolutely should not submit a FASFA electronically because the act of doing so violates part of the DACA requirements. {This is what I have been advised by lawyers who help DACA students). Accordingly colleges have told my DACA students to complete the FASFA via paper and to mail it to each college and include a cover letter that you are DACA and that you are submitting it for the colleges’ aid. For states like California that award state aid to DACA student, you should be sure to submit the correct state aid application. In California it is the student aid commission paperwork. I don’t know what New York/New Jersey requires but you should make sure you submit any paperwork New York requires.
As others have suggested, I strongly recommend you contact each of your colleges and ask them for the procedure they want for DACA students.
Here are a couple resources that I recommend you review for further information.

I am really sorry that you did not get adequate advising or that you minimally did not read the financial aid process for these schools before you submitted all of these application
Since OP is not an eligible citizen or non-citizen, s/he will have to contact the schools in question as how to submit financial aid documentation. Op also needs to check the policies at the schools in question regarding awarding aid to international/undocumented students .
Keep in mind that the only thing that DACA does is legitimizes your status for living and legally working in the US for a 2 year period. If does not make you eligible for federal or state aid
Op will not be eligible for aid at at ANY of the SUNY schools (because OP is not eligible for Federal aid or NYS aid).
OP is not eligible for EOP/HEOP because s/he is not an eligible citizen or non-citizen
NYU financial aid process for undocumented students:
If you are not a NJ resident, it is highly unlikely that you are going to receive any kind of financial aid from Rutgers (the State University of NJ)
NYU’s financial aid process
Read between the lines; NYU is not going to be an affordable option for you (as they include federal , including federal loans and state aid (for NYS residents) in all of their financial aid packages. They will not be making up that gap. With the exception of HEOP students, NYU rarely meets 100% demonstrated need for U.S. students
From R.I.T
Again, it is highly unlikely that R.I.T. will provide you with enough aid to attend.
I highly recommend that if OP is a NYC resident that s/he apply for the Dream US Scholarship, which does provide scholarships to CUNY.
