FAFSA QUESTION

<p>HI I WANT TO ADD MORE COLLEGES TO MY LIST BUT I HAVE NOT USED MY 2013 TAX INCOME. I USED THE 2012 TAX INCOME AND THE STATUS IS STILL "WILL FILE." I DON'T HAVE THE 2013 TAX INCOME YET, BUT I WANT TO ADD MORE SCHOOLS. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADD MORE SCHOOLS USING 2012 TAX INCOME? OR DO I HAVE TO FIRST GET 2013 TAX INCOME AND CHANGE IT TO FILED AND THEN ADD SCHOOLS? I THINK I CAN ADD MORE SCHOOLS WITH 2012 TAX INCOME BUT IM NOT SURE. ANYONE?</p>

<p>All caps denotes shouting. You can add more schools now and sign and submit. When taxes are done and you update to ‘have filed’ you need to sign and submit for both batches of schools again.</p>

<p>Yes, you can submit to additional schools using your will file status. Wait until the first batch of schools is processed. Then go back into your FAFSA, delete schools, and add the additional schools and submit.</p>

<p>Just remember…when you DO your taxes and update your FAFSA, you will need to do it for ALL of these schools.</p>

<p>sorry. Wait so when you delete schools, do you have to delete all schools? and how do you update your status to filed because if i delete some schools from the first batch, then they are no longer there to update. </p>

<p>Yes the deleted schools are still there…just on an earlier submission. When you go to update, you need to,update all your submissions. If you don’t delete schools, they will just receive the second submission…</p>

<p>umm thank you! so ill delete all the first 10 colleges and add addtional schools. and on the CSS Profile, it asks for the 2013 tax income, but we don’t have them yet. can we use 2012 tax income for it? </p>

<p>Baby…You should be using the BEST estimates possible for 2013 on that Profile (and the FAFSA as well). Your parents should have this information on their last pay stub from December…look at “year to date”. If you, the student, had no income in 2013, then yes, you would put $0.</p>

<p>uhh im so sorry but i wasn’t really clear on this part: when i delete my first 10 schools and add new ones which i us the 2012 taxincome instead of the 2013 tax income, how will change the status of the deleted first 10 schools which is will file to filed since it is deleted? </p>

<p>Let’s say you have 14 schools to submit to. You have already done 10 with estimates. Remove 4 and replace with the 4 additional schools and sign and submit. When you have updated the income/tax info and changed to ‘have filed’, sign and submit with the 10 schools currently entered. Then after that processes, go back, remove 4 schools and enter the 4 schools that weren’t submitted after the updates and sign and submit again.</p>
