FAFSA SAR question

Filled out the FAFSA on Jan 1st using estimated information. Within minutes we received an email saying that our FAFSA was successfully submitted and that we would be notified when our FAFSA was processed. This email also included a figure for our EFC.

The next day we received another email saying that our FAFSA was processed successfully and that our SAR was now available online by clicking on the link below. I click on that link and it takes me to the Federal Student Aid Log in page. I log in and I get a screen that includes 2 ways to view my processed info (either html or pdf). I can never get to that processed info. When I click on those links it always takes me right back to the same page. I tried opening the page using Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer and it didn't work with any of them. Could a pop up blocker be the problem?

I guess my question is: Is there info on that page that I need to see or is the EFC that was included in the original email all I need to know?

Thanks.

Yes, a pop-up blocker could cause the problem. Try holding down the CTRL key while you click. The SAR will have the answers you gave to all the fafsa questions. You should review it to make sure there aren’t any errors in the answers you gave and save/print it for future reference. The efc on the SAR should be the same as you’ve seen, but there could be an asterisk next to the efc which would mean you’ve been selected for verification.

Thanks for the tip. Will try that and hope that it works.

We had same problem in Firefox and Chrome. It worked when we used Internet Explorer

I couldn’t get it to work even in Internet Explorer. Will try again tomorrow.

Got my DH to turn off the pop up blocker and was finally able to look at my DS’s SAR!
