I’m in a critical situation right now.My family moved into the USA 6 months ago.So my parents have the foreign tax returns. And I filed the fafsa with those informations. They made less than 10k us dollars.would I be able to get any aid?And I am eligible non-citizen.And what kind of supporting documents they might ask for?Btw I started college this spring semester in CUNY.And do my parents need to file any IRS tax return in the US for that tax year or just the foreign tax return would be okay? And another question, could i do the 17-18 fafsa with 2016 year tax return?
Thanks in advance.
No, the 2017-18 FAFSA uses the 2015 tax information. You cannot substitute 2016.
You have completed the FAFSA with the foreign tax return converted to US$? Now you wait until the college asks for more information, or you can go into your FA office and ask them.
