Failed a pre-req class that was supposed to help me transfer

Hi ! So unfortunately I failed a summer college class that I took at valley college (comm 101) that was supposed to help me transfer to pre-nursing programs such as Channel Islands and cal state la. Im going to be a Csun freshman and Im planning on taking all of my pre-reqs at Csun and then transfer. Should I take the class at Csun and act like I never took it at valley or should I retake the class at valley? Also, if I do retake the class at valley, the F will still show up in the transcript. If I get a good gpa and have all A’s, will that F totally kill me when im trying to transfer?

At many CCs, you can replace a bad grade by re-taking the class. Find out if this is the Case for Valley College. I’m afraid that if you take Comm 101 elsewhere, you will not be able to replace the grade that you earned at Valley College. Most Nursing program admissions are competitive, so you really need to have the best transcript possible. The ‘F’ will stay, but if you re-take the class, you can typically replace the grade when your GPA is calculated.

You can’t pretend that you never took that class. You will need to send the transcript when you apply for transfer. So your best option is to re-take it at Valley College where the good grade will show on the same transcript as the bad one.

The more important question is what you are going to do now to pass the class. Where did you go so wrong this time that you failed instead of at least getting a C?

UPDATE: I ended up with an A !!!
