No one on this board can tell you what your chances are. You have a very good profile, as I'm sure many other competitors do as well. I just read in the NYTImes that the high school graduating class of 2008 is the largest in two decades. So, even the highest achieving students should prepare themselves for rejection. The article stated students should "pray for a miracle". College don't accept only 2400 SAT students. They accept a range of students. So, hang in there and hope for the best. Even if you don't get in, it certainly doesn't mean you aren't or weren't competitive. It's sad for me to read stats like yours that are so outstanding and have you feel that you've "failed". You're nothing close to a failure.

thanks for your input Impw and goalkick18 and fellowccviewer

and uh...Impw can I get a link to that article you're talking about?

bump for good measure

Bump Bump Bum

wanna know something? you can get in. and it's not even a % chance or a luck-of-the-draw chance. here's how you can get in:
- write a REALLY passionate essay about something you really care about, and make it good. spend LOTS of time on it and make sure that you proofread and edit it a lot. and make sure it's unique and shows you for what you are.
- choose teachers who really know you and really like you to write recommendations for you. your teacher recommendations are also important.
- do well, work hard for this rest of this semester.
- spend lots of time on your application and be sure to show that you are passionate/very inteerested in attending!!
- do an interview, and be sure to convey how much you would like to go, how much you would benefit from going, and also why you're passionate about the school/everything that you do/your ECs, etc. make a good impression.

do you think you did this? if you have, then there's no reason why your SAT scores and your gPA will hur t you too much.

nobody here knows anything about yoru chances. why? cuz we're all high school studnets who've never even seen/heard an adcom and don't know what they want. we don't know what "weak ECs" are or "you don't seem to have passion" is. we don't know how good your essays are. and most of all we don't know how the school works. so asking us is just like asking a magic 8 ball. you get lots of different answers but none of them know what they're talking about. Do NOT get discouraged, especially if it will hurt how you write your essays. you have a GREAT chance of getting in, but it's not even a random chance just know that if you show enough passion, your grades and ECs and SATs will not hurt you. In fact, they're in the range of the schools' average SATs. so people have definitely gotten in with the same GPA, SATs, etc. if they can, you can to.
