Failing One Class and doing alright in others.

So I am currently a CC student enrolled in 5 classes. I am doing well in 4 of these class, but I am near failing the 5th. I don’t understand it and I know I don’t have enough time to study for that class, considering I have 4 other classes. Should I just Fail this class, instead of trying to pass with a C that will knock my GPA down, or should I retake it later. What are the chances of this Fail haunting me later when I apply to transfer.

What’s the class? What do you hope to major in? Where do you hope to transfer to? Is it a major prep course?

go talk to a xfer counselor.

If you can withdraw then it doesn’t hurt your gpa (although a bunch of W’s won’t look good either). If you get a C then you can’t retake it later for a better grade. See http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/q-and-a/calculating-gpa/index.html#9 I’m not sure if they still take the D/F into account when looking at your transcript, even if it isn’t part of your gpa. Ask a counselor.
