Failing placement exams

So, I'm an incoming student at Gabelli and I'm wondering about the mathematics placement exams. What happens if you do poorly or even fail them? I know people say things like "it's just to gauge your potential," but I'd also guess that doing poorly would be cause for me to be removed from the honors program I got into. Any input is appreciated.

I cant speak specifically for Gabelli, but I do know its utilized at FCRH for placement into the first semester freshmen year classes, and in the case of foreign languages to ensure you are not over your head or bored to tears. As an Honors Gabelli student, its axiomatic that you are bright and have no fears of doing poorly. Its not that big a deal, its really only for placement into the right level core requirements. They use those scores and your high school transcript to set up your first semester courses at Rose Hill (Lincoln Center has a bit more flexibility and personal choice first semester). In any event, your faculty advisor will be meeting with you in the first week to ensure the path to success and ultimately the graduation requirements for your degree.

Relax. Congrats on your admission.

As far as I have ever heard, the placement tests are used just for scheduling purposes. And you will always have a chance to meet your dean and change your schedule during orientation if you need to do that.
