So Im failing a gen chem 1220 class, its too late to drop at this point and I really need to up my grade. I think Im gonna do well on the final but failing the midterms really killed. I bit off more than i could chew working 50 hrs a week and taking 17.5 credits. Any ideas on how I can boost my grade, maybe consult the teacher, TA, or advisor? Any advice would be appreciated. I have A’s in all my other classes its just this one that has given me so much trouble and an E would absolutely kill my GPA
Try to make the case for a retroactive withdrawal. Go see your advisor about this ASAP.
How is it possible to work 50 hours a week while taking 17.5 hours? It seems to me that you couldn’t even show up to class while working so many hours, let alone do the reading and homework you need to do to keep up with your classes. Frankly, I’m surprised you have A’s in your other classes.
I work nights 7 pm - 12 am and weekends 8 pm - 1 am so I get to all my classes fine and I have two days a week to study it’s just not enough for Chem, it’s worked fine with calc II sociology and cse so far just not Chem
So you work 35 hours a week, not 50. In any case, that’s a sizable distraction. I would recommend only taking the recommended 15 hours of coursework from here on out.
