Failure?

ITT your experiences with failing a quiz, test, essay, midterm, class, etc.

I think I failed my Algebra 1 final in 8th grade because my teacher got knocked up and left us with a horrible teacher. More recently, I think I failed a U.S. history quiz on the third day of school and that would mean I have an F in a class...but I'm not sure because the American grading system is completely unfamiliar to me. :/ :\ :/

Yeah...I managed to get 0 on a AP physics thing because I basically can't read. And in AP chem I used to sometimes get like 2/17, but made it up by getting like 15/6 other days (quizzes graded on average).

I have a F in AP physics because my teacher can't work the online thing so when she entered our textbook numbers it counted it as grades and took everybody down to like 0% since the book numbers are like 00-78-32-kW.

Today, I bombed an AP Physics test. The entire class failed it, and our teacher literally doesn't teach, so I really don't feel that bad about it

Ah, my greatest failure was in my sophomore AP chem class -- I was absent for the first month or so of school, and the teacher had a very precise method which we were supposed to follow for our lab write ups (which were worth like 40% of our grade btw). So, I was absent for the first 15 labs (they were all safety/general equipment things), but I still needed to hand them in --- so I did, formatted incorrectly. I ended up getting Fs and Ds on all of them, haha; not a good way to start off the semester (ended up in that class with my lowest grade evar! B+, and in a science, for shame!)

^ Uhg... Lowest? Then again I've had some pretty crappy years with things beyond my controll, and well this is CC.

Actually last year I almost failed all of my classes except band and debate. It sounds horrible, but I was having some issues with things at home resulting in stress which resulted in some mental issues which made it so I couldn't seem to pay attention no matter what. I tried so hard, but nothing seemed to work. About a month before school got out I managed to pull all my grades to B's (except debate and band, which stayed at 100% for both). I ended up with three 89's. It still makes me mad.

So, obviously from that, I failed a fair amount of tests. I'm really ashamed of it, but there wasn't much I could do. :( Hopefully it doesn't repeat this year. Then again most of my teachers this year know what's going on so they're willing to work with me.

Evarrr?! Lol. You of all people should NOT do that badly in a science class... lol.
That would be like.. me getting an 88 on my AP Euro test?! Which I just did?! Hahahha.

^ I'm guessing you like AP Euro?

I thought I failed my physics homework, until I learned that its graded on a 20 point scale :D

Failure.. hmm.

I can't say that I've ever really failed a test I needed or wanted to get an A on. I mean, there was this one time that I bs'ed a calculus quiz having been too busy in the week.. I got by with a B- that was hardly deserved. I remember saying the night before the quiz "f it, I don't know the concepts and I'm tired! Time to sleep!" x_X;;

I made it up for an A, later.

I have no idea what's going on in my AP Physics B course online... but I technically have 130% because you get one extra credit point for every error you find. :)

My asian fail (Only B): Algebra II online. I did every single assignment in this class in the last 3 days. I pulled a triple all-nighter. I ended up with a 90 though! :( I guess I was lucky the teacher was willing to grade all of the ~120 assignments + tests/quizzes.

I failed a phonics test in 1st grade. I failed a math test in 5th grade (didn't count on grade tho..it was on 6th grade topics). Interesting that I'm now MAO prez lol.

*I have no idea what's going on in my AP Physics B course online... but I technically have 130% because you get one extra credit point for every error you find. *

rofl that's kinda sad.

Yeah, but he's going to post last weeks grades and that will bring me down under 100%. If I don't start understanding stuff soon, the extra credit won't be helpful much longer. We don't have that kind of grade inflation.

I would have failed every Algebra I test ever, if not for my school's "get a B/80% or retake until you do" policy.

Who's the online course provider?

OH, I have another one...

Last year I had HORRIBLE test anxiety. When my Latin midterm came around my anxiety was at its peak so I litterallly bombed my midterm. I think I got a 52% or something. I got a B in the class which I'm still mad about because I knew the material at an A level. I started balling about half way though the test and started crying really hard after I finished it.

I had woken up late that day and missed in completeness my Science midterm. That didn't help much.

I got another few. I went to nationals and had to miss four days of school. I came back and my USH teacher made me take a test without getting any of the notes. I managed to get a 50 on it. Later that quarter, we were assigned a book for the same class. Of the three tests he gave us on the book, one he forgot to tell our class about, and the other two I said, "Screw it, this book sucks anyway," and went to bed. I averaged 55% on those three tests. Still, I miraculously managed to pull an A in the class. Can you say grade inflation.

I got an 89.4% in my college political science class. One more point in the class and I would have had an A.

The last 2 Ap World history quizzes I failed, but I usually do well on tests and daily grades, so it'll equal out to a border line A.
