Faith/Church at Howard

Someone asked me about this privately so I thought I would post the answer in case others are interested…

As far as I can tell, kids are fine with being open about their faith at Howard. There is Chapel every Sunday in the auditorium. Plenty of students attend. Students also volunteer as Chapel Assistants to help with set up, etc. They have wonderful guest ministers and a choir(s).

In the actual small school Chapel, there is a Sunday Catholic Mass with a small group of students. They have a Deacon(?) and guest priests that come. They sometimes go to Mass off campus for special occasions and seem to be a close group.

There are kids who practice various other faiths and some go regularly with others off campus to do so.

If you want to privately or publicly be active in your faith at HU, you should be able to do so just fine and find others of like beliefs. The campus is accepting.

@partyof5 and her D may know more. The above is what my D shared.

You pretty much summed it up! There are some dynamic speakers who come to chapel.

Do they have shuttles to other churches?

@thelittlechica my D does not know of shuttles but kids go to services at other places around DC and just use public transportation or uber. The campus is fully urban with the bus and metro easily accessible.
