Fall 08 Transfers

Is anyone else waiting to hear from their respective colleges at UF as to whether or not they have been accepted for Fall semester 08?? In particular, the college of engineering??

Hey...what is going on with UF??? Why won't they tell who they have accepted?? Am I the only one who is in this "situation"???

um im pretty sure all acceptances have been decided i got my letter the 1st week of may and i knew online by the last week of april...

I heard from them on April 14th, but that was for engineering Grad school. Call them up and ask, it doesn't look good when it's almost June and you still haven't gotten a response.

Thanks for the input...I have called, but each time am told that my app is still under review by the engineering college. I applied late, so am hoping that is the reason why I haven't heard yet...hopefully, I'll hear something soon...

searosa,

Nothing to worry about, if you applied late the engineering school should let you know by the end of next week. I spoke to somebody and she told me that the person that is in charge of making a decision is out of town. Thus, it's taking longer for them to make a decision.
Just make sure you're on top of then after next week. I'm pretty sure you will find out by then.

Good luck

It depends on your college. My gf is trying to transfer here into CALS (ag & life sciences) for next Spring. I called on her behalf to ask a few questions, one of which was the expected turn around time on the apps for Spring. The woman I was speaking to is the coordinator for admissions and the one who makes the final decisions for that college. She told me that she isn't even looking at Spring applications until after her deadline to finish Fall apps which is July 31st. The reason, of course, was because after they had heard the school was limiting the number of transfer students because of budget cuts, they just stopped reviewing applications until they got the official number they could accept. I don't know if all colleges work this way, but I do know CLAS (liberal arts) also has a mid-summer deadline.

Fall apps deadline is July 31st?? UGH..

blandonfrank, I appeciate the info re the "powers that be" being on vacation...

I'll call the Engineering College on Monday to see what's up...

I really want to be a Gator....!!!!

has ur gf heard nething...im in the same situation waiting for spring...im praying i get in.....can u give me some more info on CLAS and the mid summer deadline???

She hasn't heard anything else yet. We're pretty sure we won't hear anything until the Fall. As far as CLAS's deadline to decide on Fall Apps, I heard they have the same one as CALS - July 31st. That doesn't mean you won't hear an answer before that but it's not likely. All the deadline means is that they have up until that date to finish making decisions for the fall, so while they'll continuously be giving out decisions, some people might hear soon and some won't hear until the end of July/early August. If CLAS does Spring and Fall applications concurrently (which I highly doubt), they might get to yours and give you a decision soon. Or they might be like my gf's college who aren't going to start looking at Spring apps until after the deadline for Fall apps. UF really likes to cut it short. My grad school application was approved a month and a half before I had to leave for Gainesville although I applied a year in advance. That's not a lot of time to move.

well that sucks! but i got no choice but to wait..hopefully us springy's here something be4 july 31st

Just received a letter -- "Denied: Limited capacity in program."

Oh well. Good luck to the rest of you who are trying to get in!
