Fall 2005 USNEWS Rankings!

So here are my predictions for what the next USNEWS rankings will be… I have made these after gathering some data on the various applicant pools of the different schools and some other factors, however these are still just guesses. So here they are!

I’m sure many will disgaree with me, but I just thought it would be interesting to see what people predict next year’s rankings will be. :D

I agree with these rankings.

I think WUSL will drop personally. They always have their "shooting stars" to sell magazines, but that usually dies down.

Outside the top 5, for the next 25-30 it's a crap shoot. Any school could be put anywhere and nobody would make too much of a fuss.

No way LA will go that high. If it does I'll eat my hat.

you forgot Vanderbilt (ranked 18)

rice isn't going up either

um i have a feeling USC might crack the top 25, or be darn close to it. they're aggressively pursuing to upgrade their US News-favorable stats.

Prepare to eat your hat.

Haha, I agree... I think that these rankings will actually turn out to be pretty accurate. :)

Oops! I forgot:

Wake Forest should skyrocket... their average SAT's went up to a 1380 which is on par with some of the ivies. Perhaps top 20...

WUSTL isn't going to go up. If anything it would go down as some else said.

Cal Tech also isn't going to be down that far.

Yeah, I agree with uc_benz, wustl will only see declining ranks this year. That's my prediction.

Is this what you do in your free time? strange hobby

I suspect Vanderbilt will go up rather than down, as their acceptance rate fell about 10 percentage points this year.

"um i have a feeling USC might crack the top 25, or be darn close to it."

"Prepare to eat your hat."

well, they're at #30 already and it seems like funding is up, alumni giving is probably up, SAT's made a jump, and i'm sure GPA is up too.

just curious, why ucla at #19?

Where do you get the official rankings?

Might Harvard drop due to the Summers hullaballoo?

bstewart: The official rankings will probably be released in late July or August, probably the latter.

A lot seem to be tied for 25th now, but oh well! :)

the updated rankings are probably more accurate

You think UCSD will enter the top 30? I mean, most of UCLA's stats this year (including avg SAT) went down, while UCSD's went up. Doesn't it make sense for UCSD to rise if UCLA and Cal do?
