Fall 2007 Admissions?

I got in! I'm so excited.

I recieved the Parsons Accepted Students Day Email first on Friday and then the packet today.

I applied on February 1st
& BFA Photography, if you're curious

Any news?

nope, haven't gotten anything back yet and i applied Feb. 1st too! (probably means i didn't get in, but...i'm just in limbo right now. don't even know where i'll end up next year. Hate that feeling.)
When's the last day for Parsons to mail out decisions. I know that for most schools it's like April 1st. (hah, it'd suck if i got an acceptance letter that day and it's like just kidding, April Fools!)
So you got into photography. that's cool. Do you have to do Freshman Foundation for that? or is it like direct-entry?

Alot of people haven't gotten their packet, but they did get their Accepted Student Day email. Did you get your application status letter atleast?

Decisions~ Collegeboard says May 1st, 4 weeks if after that and
The letter says two weeks after acceptance

For Photography, it's only Direct-Entry. I'm pretty excited :)

I got into foundation for fashion!
Did anyone else get into the same thing as me?

Fashion!

I applied and haven't heard back.
Congrats letsbefriends and Hatten!

My daughter is going in Fall 2007 direct entry Photography. She didn't get any email about accepted student day which I think is March 31st. Could you give me any details about this? We would like to attend.

i got in for sophomore in fashion. still haven't decided if i'm going there.

college18,thanks! I hope you get in too!!
insomb, why not? :) what other schools did you apply for?

Is accepted student day March 31st for all programs?

Hatten, I hope I get in too! :D Are you going there for sure? Have you been to Parsons before?

College18, yeah keep me posted ;)
I'm going for sure! :) Atleast thats what I think, since I got an entire package home with all kinds of papers and a congratulations letter.
Did you apply for any other schools?

I just haven't decided completely. Personally I'd just rather live other places that have a little more trees :). I also liked the way some of the people in admissions talked to me more at Mica and Otis. But Otis is sorta' out now.

Parsons always seems like they don't want to talk to me on the phone. Although Pratt does too, if they even answer... so I don't know. I'll probably end up going to Parsons because of the connections and the placement, who knows? I applied at Otis, Mica, and Pratt too. I'm still waiting on Mica.

How do they seem to you on the phone? Have you visited? or will you be visiting? Maybe it's just NYC and I'm not used to it. I really really dislike bad customer service especially at the $ of tuition this school costs. I can just imagine myself waiting in a long financial aid line only to be told,"I don't know you'll have to go here" I've always wanted to go to Parsons but it makes me a little skeptical of what the priorities are.

I didn't even apply to RISD because when I spoke with them this girl got super snotty with me on the phone. I don't care what they are ranked if they're going to act snotty and expect me to pay that insane amount of tuition I won't even waste my time.

What other schools did you apply to?

To argags and nuclear_free:

For the Accepted Students Day, you have to RSVP on this website. Can't find it :</p>

From what I've heard, Parsons is pretty notorious for having crappy "service" .. as in they rarely pick up, reply, unprofessional, etc etc. If you contact Anthony Padilla (Head of Admissions) he is super nice and replied to me in an email the next day. His email is PadillaA@newschool.edu

okay i'll do that from now on, thanks letsbefriends

Thanks letsbefriends & college18

If you check the school's faculty phone directory online under admissions parsons, you'll see a few admission counselors and their direct extensions
x4014, x4024, x4026. I was able to reach one today and she emailed me the itinerary for Saturday.

Hatten, I think I'm gonna' go to Parsons.

:) insomb.thats great! which department?

Yeah! WOW Parsons telephone service is terrible!
I cringe everytime that secreterary or whoever she is snaps at me.

Good to know Im not alone ;) I was starting to take it personal! no just kidding

I also got in for a BFA in photography ! :)
