did anyone get accepted/rejected from UCLA on friday?

On the matter of prayer (I feel a little awkward talking about it haha) I prayed constantly (as in every night, every Sunday at church, etc) to get into UCLA and last night when I found out my rejection (read: bawled my eyes out) I was so angry at well, God (yup, still feeling awkward). And then my mom came in and gave me the talk of how “If it is Your will, Your will wilt be done” and told me of how maybe if you go to somewhere else, you might meet the professor who gives you the job tip or even the man you marry. You never know. Only God will know and at some point you have to give it up unto Him.
And speaking of church, I gotta go! Go 5:30 Catholicism! (:

Accepted! :)

@laurennn, you can always transfer as a junior, or get into graduate school at UCLA

definitely not the end of the world, and definitely in no certainty that you will feel happier in UCLA than the school you end up with …

by the way, the Lord did not answer my prayer to get into UCLA, may be too many prayers to answer … may be he starts answering from name starting with A, so for ‘T’ as in the leakers, all the prayer slot is taken, shoooot …

rejected, oh my Lord by Cal Tech …

@oceanview1, thanks! it worked too bad there’s no admission decision yet haha

I thought you said accepted, sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, give me the second heart attack …

@theleakers who me? I meant accepted as in accepted to UCLA

big congratulations !!!

thanks I was so surprised that I got accepted haha.

Congrats to pinayko85 for getting into UCLA! I’m sure you’ll get into UCSD since it’s seems almost impossible to get into UCLA ^_^.

This question is everywhere… on the UCLA and Berkeley subforums.

No, there is no guarantee. You can still be rejected to Berkeley; though, if you’re admitted to LA, you’re probably more likely to be admitted into Berkeley since the two universities have similar admission standards.

god why won’t decisions come out QQ

What is with UCSD! AHHH PLLEEEASEE COME OUT SOON! I’m very anxious because I haven’t heard back from UCI, and I just got rejected from UCLA -__-

My friend told me that they’re notifying students on sunday, but I guess it’s not true since there are no updates yet ! :(

@theleakers, I’ve sorta given up on loving UCLA. My sister goes there, and while I love it’s location (on the way to Disneyland from my house (we have year passes), Westwood is amazing, the campus is beautiful) I do now acknowledge that I may not be the happiest at the large atmosphere of UCLA (struggling with the same thing about UCSD). And I really want to stay at the same college for 4 years and not transfer into UCLA because I don’t think I’d be THAT happy doing transfer. I dunno why

If you go to a better school do you get more evaluation points for educational environment or less? Because if the school has a higher ranking and you take harder classes, doesn’t it make sense to give more points?

So I was just thinking of the UCSD point scale, too. Where do things like the essay come into play?

does anyone know how many students are chosen for the regents scholarship?

I’m in La Jolla right now, everyone! Touring UCSD for the second time tomorrow.

Damn this sucks. I was hoping I would hear from UCSD this weekend, especially after being rejected from UCLA. My friend’s mom knows someone who works with admissions at UCSD, and my friend told me that the guy reviews applications while wathing basketball on TV… (My friend said he witnessed this as he was droppping something off at his house for his mom). Just thought you guys would appreciate that, haha.
