Fall 2011 Decisions

When my D logged into her UCR account today, a pop-up screen said, 'Congratulations! You've been admitted to UC Riverside! .............'. It also said she didn't get admitted into her major, bioengineering, and has been admitted to her alternate major.

Did anyone else get the same pop-up notification?
Also, did anyone else apply to bioengineering and get in?

MyUCR doesn’t show anything for me yet – apparently, decisions are supposed to be released until a minute after midnight. I applied for BioE as my alternate major, though.

It was strange because it was a pop-up screen congratulating her on her admittance. She actually had to put a check mark in a box, stating she understood the information to get the pop-up screen to close, which then allowed her to go to her normal UCR screen. But her UCR screens have no indication of admittance. I guess everyone will start hearing the official notifications soon. Good luck to all!

Exactly at 12:01??

Congrats to everyone admitted!

first acceptance!
my major would definitely not be as impacted as bio engineering D:

what scholarships did everyone get?!

Do they notify you on your MyUCR account?

And Trelathika, if it’s not too personal, would you mind posting your daughter’s stats here?

personally, i got an e-mail titled, “Congratulations! You have been admitted to UC Riverside!”. i checked myucr for any scholarships, and it said “Congratulations!! You have been admitted to the major of Psychology in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences for Fall 2011. We’re excited you chose UC Riverside! You will be receiving your Official Admission Information packet in the mail very soon. Watch for it!”

DS was accepted to UCR in Bournes College of Engineering- Mechanical Engineering. He was also given a Highlander Scholarship- $1000 each year for 4 years. UCR is his safety, but we are thrilled to finally have an acceptance. DS is very impressed with their guidebook and I have heard good things about the way UCR treats undergrads. Good luck to everyone and congrats to acceptees!

i was accepted to to UCR in Bournes College of Engineering- Bioengineering and received reagents scholarship for 4 years ($5000/yr). I received an email this morning.

It turns out my D was accepted into the Bioengineering major despite the pop-up message that she had yesterday. Her stats: GPA 3.8UW, 4.04W and SAT (CR+M+Writing): 1770

Could someone chance me for UCR please?

-O-Levels: 6As, 2Bs [Bs in Urdu and Statistics. As in chem, physics, bio, math, add math, eng][O-levels & A-Levels is the british system of education. Basically we have external exams from different boards. My board is the university of cambridge one]
-A-Levels: [planned for Math, Further Math, Phy and Chem]
-One essay was really good, the talents accomplishment, etc one. The other essay was not so good.
-Good ECs [Not too much community work]. A lot of accomplishments in theater [theater is my main EC, and I am some what of an established stage-actor here in Islamabad]

So do I have a chance? I’ve applied for EE and mechanical alt as a freshman for fall 2011.[as I remember =P] Still haven’t received a decision from them though. =/ But, anyway, what are my chances?

gtfotu: You should have no problem being accepted to UCR. My son’s application was accepted at UCR school of engineering last year with much lower stats (GPA: 3.4 and SAT 1700).

Well, thanks for the encouragement. Fingers crossed now, haha.

I got an email too, admitted into Pre-Business. Recieved Highland Excellence Scholarship as well. UCR’s not my top choice, but I’m happy I got in and have more options :)
