Fall 2011 Acceptances

All this worry has left no room in my brain for AP Spanish vocab. Who really needs to know how to say “sugar bowl” in Spanish anyways?

Thank you guys after getting rejected from UCLA ( Top choice) i was so depressed i didn’t want to do anything but now i feel alive.
I wish you the best of lucks to everyone, have faith because you ever know whats gonna happen. I hope to see you guys at UCSD yes yes yes!!

GOOOOT ACCEPTEDDDDDDDDDDDD
YEAH-YUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Time to pop champagne.

Hey guys, so this is my first time ever actually commenting or posting on cc but this website has been incredibly in the past, and this thread is too entertaining for me to resist jumping in (I’ve read all 60something pages).

I applied to UCSD as a Visual Arts: Media major and I’m very doubtful about my chances of acceptance (3.83 UC GPA, 1980 SAT, etc…). I got rejected at ULCA (no surprise there) but accepted at San Francisco State, San Diego State, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Cruz. Unless I magically get accepted at UCSD, it looks like I’ll happily enroll at UCSC. (Still waiting on UCSB as well, but I don’t really care about the results).

Oh and congratulations to all those who have been accepted, and good luck to all those still waiting! About 95% of you sound totally qualified, but admissions are insane, so who knows…

my friend got the phone call yesterday :(

countsnelson: I applied for the same major as you. We even have the same GPA! But you have a higher SAT score than me so maybe that gives you a higher chance? So kinda think of it that way to relieve yourself from all the anxiety. I’ve also been accepted to SDSU but still heard nothing from UCI. I regret not applying to UCSC…

Are they only calling in state people? I’m out of state and haven’t heard anything yet.

pinayako58: I don’t think so, I’m in state but I didn’t get a call yet

So I’m thinking this year UCLA is all about GPA. I know two girls (who I used to be very close to, so I know their lives for the most part, etc) who were both accepted with amazing GPAs (seriously, both has only ever gotten ONE B) but their test scores were both 1900s. And as far as their ECs, both only dance for school, with minor involvement in CSF. *Neither has a job. I expected them to get in because of their GPAs, but the people who have slightly lower GPAs, WAY higher SATs and much better ECs were rejected so it sorta bugs me…

sunfulgirl: Are you a film related major at all those schools? And I’m sure you’ll hear from UCI any day now, they just have a bizarre admissions process, and for some reason I was in the first batch of notified applicants, it came as a total surprise.

why is there no one calling me ???

@Laurennn123, i dont think its all about gpa. my unweighted gap is 3.95. and a lot of other people that got rejected from my school have really high gpas.

@blueberries2, then I’m out of rational. I’m over getting rejected, but I honestly can’t see why these two girls were accepted (one was offered an almost complete ride!) I just don’t understand…

Enrollment goals for this year went up! Hopefully that’s a good sign…

There were 3,700 spots available and now there are?

they already called 3699 students, hee hee hee

You’re gonna be giving some people heart attacks leakers lol

my friend said that it was for “priority” acceptances. That’s what they said during the call…ugh.

@theleakers, how are you getting this info lol, genius!

I wouldn’t take it the wrong way if they didn’t call you. Priority maybe means students who are most likely to enroll, not necessarily the most brightest who were accepted.
