Hi,
I am an international freshman applicant for the fall term and even though I've submitted my application way before the deadline, I haven't heard anything from them. They don't have an application status check system and they are not informing applicants on the phone either. I am not even sure that they have everything that they need.

Is it same with you? When should we expect a decision?

I’m an applicant for the PhD program in Electrical Engineering for fall 2011, I have not heard from the admissions office either, but one of the research labs in the EE department has sent me an email indicating interest in my application and has taken a step in trying to recruit me.

“OMGMIT” and “carmondd” what I did for all the schools I applied to was to send an email to the admissions office asking if they had received all my documents and my application folder was complete, it won’t take much time to do that, and you’ll be surprised how helpful it was just to ask.

Ugh March is so far away! We really have to wait that long?? I applied before Dec.15.
I’ve heard from all my schools (even the other ones with 12/15 deadlines) except the one that I applied EA and got deferred. :/

I just received an email from UW, stating that I can create a UW netID from their website. However, when I try to login I get the message “Authentication Failed”. It is really disturbing.

I can’t log in. I’m very suspicious since my stats are rather low (but my essays and ECs are fantastic): 3.21 UW GPA, 1870 SAT, OOS, Political Science.

It’s really suspicious that we both can’t log in. Maybe there is a general problem with their system.

My stats:
I am an international student from Turkey.
GPA: 70/100 (4 out of 5) It may not be great in the US scale but it is considered a good grade in Turkey.
SAT: 1970/2400 (1390/1600) 640CR 750M 580W
Lost of ECs, including awards from national and international project competitions. Also a patent.
I am applying for CompSci.

It didnt work for me earlier but now I got into the system… I don’t think this is an indicator of whether we’re in or not though… If it’s necessary I applied with a 3.23 UW (3.94 W) gpa and a 31 act. and i’m out of state.

I contacted the UW Information Technology Service Center and they told me that there was a problem and it has been fixed but I am still having problem logging in. Maybe the error came back.

I reset the password for my D by following the prompts for forgotten password. The one from the application login and she was able to get to the UW Net ID. Hope that makes sense.
