Have not stopped staring at my phone hoping for a call.

Likewise jml! I am like hoping for a phone call. Let us hope this is not indicative for the worst=(.

Last year, there were people waiting until the end of April, so let’s not get too dramatic people.

Guess tomorrow brings a new a day and more waiting=p. I looked through last year’s forum and a phone call did not always occur. That’s good news. Knowing a package can just show up via FedEx. Good luck to all.

I wonder if anyone with experience knows whether they call in the morning or afternoon – that way, I can spend at least half of the day relaxed.

The package from Fedex showed up at my parents’ house sometime today. They just emailed me about it. They said they received no phone call, and I obviously didn’t because I am currently in Afghanistan.

Congratulations Fritz, and thank you so much for your service to this country!

Is there a method to who gets admitted first? Are more qualified people admitted first or is it whoever applied first?

If there’s one thing I learned about the process from reading through last year’s thread today is that there is no rhyme or reason to any of it.

Some people were admitted on the first via phone call, some on the 29th by email. Some got neither and just ended up with a package at their house. It did, however, seem like most people were accepted by phone call on or around the 19th of last year.

Pins. Needles. Waiting. Beer. What else can you control?

Oh, and as always, best of luck to everyone!!!

My Phone call came on Friday the 30th at 9:30 and my Fedex packet came today. I didn’t receive any email at all. The woman spoke a lot about my essay (I actually didn’t mention Columbia in my essay at all-- only in the last line), she also mentioned my gsae and balancing academia and family life. I did send a picture and didn’t complete the optional 500 word essay; I had 2 letters of recommendation from my current professors. I applied on February 18th although my HS transcripts took forever to get there.

jacq, what was the status of your college transcripts on application tracker. Mine ays provisional/pending… does anybody know what that means?

Yes provisional/pending just means you’re currently enrolled in classes and they expect your transcript for this semester at the end of the semester (assuming you’re admitted, that is).

Yes mine is prov/pend also as I’m currently enrolled in 5 classes. I have to send the final transcript at the semester’s end.

So they want to have the outcome of the current semester classes before making a final decision?

No not necessarily. But if you’re admitted you need to send them your final semester grades, even though they can typically make a decision before receiving them, assuming you’ve got some past credits.

I have about 52 past credits or something and I’m taking 15 credits now.

A decision is made prior to the final transcript; however, one must send a final copy if accepted in order for transfer credits to be processed.

Any word today? Can anybody else log into financal aid?
